It's pretty good food and the nice ambiance of the restaurant's slick decor and comfortable seating are rather atypical of an average Thai restaurant. Thai Spice is my favorite restaurant so far in the Polk Gulch area.

I gave this 5 stars because I'll take good food over good service anyday. That said, the veggie spring rolls get better and better every time, and the seafood soup is to die for! I go here a lot when I visit my friend who lievs a block away, and we usually share plates, which is the best way to do it with any restaurant in the city. Pretty affordable too!

After trying thai chai yo down on Polk Street for my first thai food experience in SF, I accepted the fact that SF was not a thai food mecca. It was horrible. My bf dragged me here one night against my will and i gladly changed my mind. The food was amazing. I had pad kee mao and bbq chicken. Both were absolutely scruptious and full of flavor. I have since returned numerous times, brought friends and plan to take my mom there when she comes this weekend. And a great thing about here is they deliver and send out coupons in the mail so I think it's like 20% off if you plan right. Not a bad deal for great thai food.

i like this place because it's convenient, the ambiance is nice but casual, and the food is decent. for all the times that i've gone, there have been a few off days (i.e. the eggplant was not cooked long enough) but i always go back and usually it's good. there are some better thai places though, so if you have a car head down to koh samui and the monkey :) their green papaya salad is the best! and so was their scallop curry.

this is my preferred delivery spot. i've gone back and forth between thai spice and lemongrass, but i think i have to stick with thai spice. price is right, the food is fresh (with nice tender crisp veggies and sauces that aren't too heavy), and you'll have your dinner lickety split.

Thai Spice was disappointing. I was there for about 30 mins before someone came to take my order. After that it took forever to get my food and it was only average. If you want Thai, go somewhere else in the city.

Big prawns in the pad thai, out of this world coconut ice cream and fried bananas...and the 2nd time I went there, I saw the sign for free parking in a nearby garage. Will have to take advantage of that next time (if I don't feel like walking, that is).

i developed my taste for thai food while living in seattle (weird huh), where there seem to be an overabundance of thai expats. thai spice is the only place so far in SF that i think measures up to the saucy, spicy goodness of thai tom or thai-ger room on university ave near the uw.

If you are down with Thai food then this is worth a stop. The appetizers are great and the portions are big. As with most Thai places you get a ton of food for a nice price. It is on Polk in Nob Hill so parking is tough, but the food is good!

Thai Spice gets four stars for meeting our weekly takeout needs. Ready for pickup in less than 15 minutes. Solid pad thai and curry dishes. Tasty, spicy (upon request) pad kee mao. Good portions, decent prices, clean flavors. As a frame of reference, our favorite day-to-day Thai is King of Thai #1, but it's a little far for us now. And we do like nearby Jitlada, but it's a little pricey and slow for takeout.

Slow, slow, slow delivery. But once the food got here it was really good. I would suggest either eating in or ordering when you're not hungry yet :)

pumpkin:perfect texture. potatoes: potatoe-y, the desired outcome. yellow curry: consistency of backwash, more watered down than ryan seacrests' ipod. The veggie menu: promising, will return. my lunch break: a time to make right choices, i would put this in the pseudo-destructive party. this review: more of a salvo, really, 10.80 cents for brown rice and sub-par urine pigmented coconut milk!!!

This place is horrible. I've never been to the restaurant, but I ordered delivery from them. First off, the guy on the phone had no idea what they had on the menu. I wanted the Pad Thai Bu and he had no clue what I was talking about. Even after giving him the number on the menu he had no clue. Then the delivery guy comes and the bill is $17 and I give him $20 and he turns to take off. Normally I wouldn't mind tipping him that much but because he didn't even bother to give me change or ask if I needed change, but assumed to take the $3, so I stopped him. I ended up only giving him $1. So incredibly rude!!!! On top of all this, their original pad thai tasted like ketchup was just poured on it(if you didn't know, so restaurants use this for pad thai) and the basil chicken was so salty I had to drink a ton of water just to get it down. I will never order from them again even though they are the closest Thai place by me!!!! disgusting!!
